About Gen X Outlaws

Based in North Central West Virginia, the band blends the country grit, southern rock swagger, 90s edge, and early 2000s favorites that still bring a room to life. The sound is familiar without feeling predictable, rooted in songs people know, love, and want to hear loud.

We are not trying to fit into one narrow genre. The identity is in the crossover. It is where rock attitude meets country soul, where honky-tonk singalongs can sit beside guitar-driven anthems, and where a night can move naturally from laid-back favorites to full-throttle crowd songs.

That mix gives Gen X Outlaws a live show that works in a lot of rooms. Bars, festivals, community events, private parties, and outdoor stages all call for something a little different. We build the night around the crowd in front of us, leaning into the songs, pacing, and energy that fit the moment.

At the center of it all is a simple goal:
play great songs, bring real energy, and give people a night they are glad they came out for.

Unique Sound

Rock and country did not live in separate worlds for the Gen X crowd, especially in WV!

For many of us, the soundtrack was a mix of both. Country radio, classic rock, southern rock, 90s alternative, bar-band staples, and early 2000s favorites all lived side by side. Gen X Outlaws leans into that blend instead of choosing only one side of it.

The result is a setlist with range, but still a clear identity. It feels cohesive because it comes from the same era, the same attitude, and the same kind of crowd connection.
